Nibi will release the EP "Membrane" on July 31, 2024.
It is a work containing 6 songs including 3 pre-release singles.
This work, which began production in 2022, is inspired by the consistent image of "Membrane" and is a work that asks the listener to constantly think from the past to the present, and from the present to the future, while keeping in mind an introspective perspective on the environment surrounding oneself, mental health, and outlook on life.
The musicality of each song, woven from the diverse musical knowledge of Omura Tomoya, who is mainly in charge of composition and arrangement, is rich and wide-ranging, while Norie Takahashi's transparent and core vocals and introspective lyrics increase the resolution as pop music, making it a work that is worth listening to throughout the entire song as a work composed under a consistent theme. A release party will be held at the atelier and gallery "Koen" based in Nakameguro on August 31, 2024. This will be Nibi's first independently-produced event and her first live performance.

  • Nibi

    Nibi is a music unit consisting of Norie Takahashi and Tomoya Omura. They began their activities in 2020, weaving introspective words with Takahashi's transparent and powerful vocals based on Omura's meticulously constructed electronic sound. In 2022, they produced a film without video, "Mizu no Hoshi," through crowdfunding. On July 31, 2024, they released the EP "Membrane." On August 31, they held a release party at the art gallery Kouen in Nakameguro, and performed their first live performance since forming. On March 26, 2025, they released their fourth digital single, "From Snow." The delicate melody and dark electro sound express the silence of snow and heart-wrenching emotions, and the work truly reflects fluctuating love and seeping pain. On March 29, the music video for the song was released. The world of the song is depicted through images of madness and mercy mixed together against the backdrop of a snowy mountain. The spectacular images, which are like watching a movie, bring the pain and prayer contained in the song to light even more clearly. While focusing on creative work, they continue to perform live at galleries and live houses around Tokyo, pursuing the kind of expression that can only be born from their unique worldview and performance.
