  • SAMURAI APARTMENT

SAMURAI APARTMENT is a unique track-making unit consisting of taiko drummer & track-maker KYO, DJ & rapper CLIMB, and Japanese voice SHIMO. And it is a collective of artists and creators who live in the apartment. KYO and CLIMB, who were classmates in high school, were already active in their respective fields of music when they were in high school, and graduated from high school in March 2011 while talking about how they wanted to create out-of-the-box music together someday. Ten days later, the Great East Japan Earthquake hit their hometown. After participating in reconstruction assistance activities in their respective musical fields, the two reunited in the studio for the first time in many years to create music with the theme of "lounge music" that is uniquely Japanese. Just as art is created in Western clubs and salons where different kinds of creators gather, "SAMURAI APARTMENT," a dopey virtual apartment where friends can freely participate, was born, inspired by the "creative activities" of apartment dwellers with dreams in the same direction as Japanese writers and manga artists in the past. APARTMENT" was born. On March 11, 2017, the day of the 7th Great East Japan Earthquake, he released "NEO JAPAN LOUNGE #001," which describes his days dedicated to the reconstruction of his hometown from the impressionable age of 18 to 24, and was distributed worldwide on iTunes, where it suddenly reached #40 in the world genre. In June 2017, he was in charge of the 60- and 15-second TV commercials for the Tohoku Kizuna Festival, as well as the opening video and festival jingle for the Roku Matsuri Parade. In May 2018, voice was positioned as the ultimate instrument with a message, and SHIMO joined to produce the 2nd album, and 4 songs were tied up before its release. On March 11, 2019, the long-awaited 2nd album "Bokura no Mirai wa. Release. In August 2019, at the beginning of the 24-hour TV nationwide broadcast, they performed their original song "Shippu Xunrai" with Arashi Matsumoto Jun as a blue carp banner project from Higashimatsushima City, an area affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, which was a great success. The following day, SAMURAI APARTMENT performed "Moshi Moshi...", a song about regret that can never be filled based on the voices of disaster victims, live from the main venue in Sendai. The sky had been clear until then, but as soon as the performance started, it started raining and pouring, and it stopped as soon as the performance started.
