The blurred city lights will illuminate you ⋆. Blurred City Lights is a three-piece band formed in Nagoya in February 2022. Rooted in the catchy melodies of J-POP, their sound ranges from expansive guitar-driven soundscapes to delicate piano-centered arrangements, with vocals that blend gentle whispers and soaring power winning them fans both in Japan and abroad. While firmly grounded in authentic shoegaze, the band's willingness to push beyond the genre's boundaries is their greatest strength. Following four demo singles, the band released their debut full-length album "Tenshi no Inai Machi de" in February 2024. Despite being entirely self-released, the album sold out its 300-copy run within a year. Their second album, "Utopia/Dystopia", followed in February 2025, with release shows in Nagoya and Tokyo drawing fans from overseas as well as across Japan. In November of the same year, they completed a three-city tour of China, steadily expanding their presence on the international stage. Their upcoming single "Gekkou", due April 2026, is built on an overwhelming shoegaze foundation while pushing bass and drums into more aggressive, technically ambitious territory. With hook-driven melodies that cut through the wall of sound, the track achieves a striking balance of heaviness and catchiness.
