The 1st album by the Japanese 'Human Electro' band, UQiYO (Pronounced 'Ukeeyo': means Floating Realm)
This album, which has taken 5 years to complete, can be regarded as the life story of a musician in the form of music.
All 14 songs have distinct ambience that sends the listener into different visual sceneries. The song "Kyoto, the Valley" invites the listener to a nostalgic Japanese countryside, while "At the Starcamp" can motivate the listener to go camp under a star gazing night. These senses are very 'human=hearty and warm', but definitely 'electro' at the same time.
So is it arcane? Possibly, but why does everything have to be straightforward nowadays? As in life, this album will not give you all the answers, so lets take a trip into the floating realm of UQiYO.
UQiYO is Yuqi (vocals/composer/producer), and Phantao (keyboardist). To best describe the chemistry, Phantao and Yuqi’s music consists of huge amounts of heat energy, which absorbs into their surroundings. The demo, which was pre-released in SoundCloud in 2011, was played by thousands, and was highly regarded throughout the industry.
In Spring 2013, UQiYO will be collaborating with talented individuals in their creative fields. Listeners can look forward to the music video for our single "At the Starcamp" and a video clip about Thailand using the tune "Elephant's Tail". http://uqiyo.com/star/
