10代でR&Bシンガーとしてデビューし、m-floとの「let go」（2004）を経て、『YOSHIKA』（2015）でボーカリストだけでなくSSWとしての才能を開花させたYOSHIKA。前作『About a Beautiful Mistake』（2018）では日本のみならず海外リスナーからも高い評価を受け、世界中のコアな音楽ファンを着実に増やし続けるなか、待望の7曲入りのミニアルバム『In Such Darkness（邦題：こんな暗闇の中で）』をリリースする。
前作に引き続き、今作も全ての楽曲の詞曲編曲からレコーディングまで、YOSHIKA自身が行っている。ポスト・チルウェイブ路線を踏襲し、無駄を省いたミニマルなアレンジによって、綿密に練られた繊細なコーラスワークが引き立てられる。前作以上にYOSHIKAの＜絶品ざらめボイス＞を心ゆくまで堪能でき、疲れきった現代人の耳をやさしく癒す。また、各曲を個性の異なる7名のエンジニアによってミックスダウンが行われ、七者七様の音像で楽しめるのも音楽通を唸らせる隠し味だろう。1日の節目に1曲づつ、深煎りしたコーヒーをお供にそっと味わいたい芳醇なアルバムに仕上がっている。

    Yoshika

    1983年、横浜生まれ。 11歳からカナダに1年半、17歳の時にアメリカに2年半の海外在住経験を持つ。 帰国後、CM音楽などの活動を始める。 アル・クーパーの名曲をカバーした【JOLIE】は 2002～03年のSONY Cyber-ShotのTV-CMに起用され 2003年2月にYOSHIKAの1st シングルとしてリリースされる。 同年11月、8曲入りミニアルバム【STRAIGHT AHEAD】をリリース。 2004年11月、m-floの新ヴォーカリストに一躍抜擢され『m-flo loves YOSHIKA』名義で MAXI SINGLE【let go】がavexよりリリースされる。 2005年、ATLANTIC JAPAN/WARNER MUSIC JAPANと契約を交わし 【Call Me】でメジャーデビュー。 2006年1月 、メジャー1stフルアルバム【timeless】をリリース。 オリコンチャート初登場20位を記録。 同年、自身の結婚、妊娠を転機にメジャーシーンから一線を退くことを決意。 出産を経て2008年12月にフルアルバム【World】にて音楽シーンに復帰。 2010年1月、アルバム【REDWOOD TREE】を 3月にはライヴベストアルバム【I SING -LIVE BEST-】を 9月22日にはiTunes限定でミニアルバム【Strongly In Life】をリリース。 2012年、イラストレーターの利光春華などのクリエイターとともにARMATELの活動を開始。 2015年、5年ぶりとなるオリジナルフルアルバム【YOSHIKA】をリリース。 2018年、アルバム【About a Beautiful Mistake】 、2019年にアルバム【In Such Darkness（邦題：こんな暗闇の中で）】をリリース。 2021年9月に​​シングル【Quiet Talk】​を、2022年6月にシングル【Center Of My Heart】​を​リリースする。
