This song is my first non-fiction work, and I wrote and composed it based on an episode from my high school days. The song title, "Stray Cat," refers to the protagonist who was dumped by his girlfriend. The stray cat that appears in the anime is a metaphor for the "protagonist," and the story depicts a heartbreak drama of misunderstandings between a devoted boy and a girl who moves on quickly. It was the most highly rated song among my classmates, perhaps because of its realism. (laughs)
Story Development
Nearly before graduating from high school, he gives his girlfriend a Tiffany heart-shaped necklace for her birthday, but a few days later, she suddenly calls to break up, citing their differing career paths and the need for a long-distance relationship. Even though they loved each other, he aimed to become a musician, and she was going to enter the workforce, so she must have felt anxious about their future.

Several years later, the protagonist, unable to forget her, learns from a friend that she is working in a city office district. Searching through the city on a weekday, he spots a figure resembling her from behind and follows her.

Along the way, flashbacks of past memories flood back, but the protagonist, wanting to rekindle their relationship, tries to call out to her. At that moment, an unknown man approaches her. She appears happy as she and the man disappear into the city. The song depicts the protagonist's hope, lingering feelings, and heartbreak simultaneously in its climax.
