The 5th album from the dark fantasy music project, Films, featuring cinematic sounds with two female vocalists who sing in their own originally created languages.

This time too, the instrumental band, Anoice worked on the album production as the producer, and two members from Anoice, Takahiro Kido and Yuki Murata took charge of composing all the songs. This album incorporates not only an emotional piano and celesta performed by Yuki Murata but also some retro instruments such as an analog synthesizer and reed organ in a big way, and treating Films' unconstrained high tone voices as one of elements of the instruments made it possible for Films' ephemeral and beautiful sound, which symbolizes their originality, to become more mystical.

'maze sleeper' contains 'behind your eyes' and 'revolving lantern' which are destructive dark fantasy songs, a signature of Films' representative sound, 'miracle' and 'two clocks' which feature energetic rhythm played by Tadashi Yoshikawa from Anoice, 'moon and cat' and 'sphere' which express the dreamy ambient sound by adding spatial effects to Films' vocals, and 'polka dot', a lovely song formed simply by a vocal and piano like songs from Mizu Amane, a side project of Films.

This is a fantastical album, creating a soundscape as though you were wandering around a heavy-foggy forest.

    Films is a dark fantasy music unit formed by Anoice, an instrumental music band featuring dark cinematic sounds, with two female vocalists who sing in their own originally created languages. They make creative and beautiful music using the classical sounds of piano and stringed instruments, often blending them with electric, destructive rhythms. Films debuted by releasing their first album 'Messenger' on Noble Label in 2010. In 2013, Films released their second album 'a forbidden garden' on Ricco Label, and received much praise from Nobuo Uematsu, the composer for the Final Fantasy series. This album was also included in the trilogy that has a 'memories' theme together with Anoice's fourth album 'into the shadows' and the third album 'Gift' from Yuki Murata. After the successes of the Europe tour and the first live performance in Japan held at Saitama Super Arena which gathered 10,000 people in 2016, Films began the new project 'mizu amane' featuring the lyrics sung with Japanese archaic languages which are no longer spoken, and released eight singles up until now. Also, in November 2016, Films released their third album, 'signs from the past', featuring Calu who is the vocalist of Matryoshka. Films went to Hong-Kong, China tour with Anoice, and then, released the 4th album 'at the deep end' in 2023. This album contains beautiful and quiet songs which were used as inserted song on a movie 'Girls on Film' directed by Robin Bain in US, and also another song premiered at the stage of ASIA BEAUTY EXPO 2022, one of the biggest beauty salon business events in Asia. In 2026, Films released their 5th album 'maze sleeper' and treating Films' unconstrained high tone voices as one of elements of the instruments made it possible for Films' ephemeral and beautiful sound, which symbolizes their originality, to become more mystical.
