Tokyo-based artist SEIJ continues to blur genre lines with quiet precision. Following his 2025 revival series, the third chapter-Golden Butterfly (2026 Ver.)-lands this spring. A self-produced multi-instrumentalist, SEIJ writes and performs everything himself. Vocals, keys, and saxophone woven into intricate layers. He fuses the intimate ache of alternative R&B with house'shypnotic groove, drum & bass's sharp energy, and ambient's ethereal drift, crafting a singular world that feels both warmly nostalgic and strikingly futuristic. What lingers most is SEIJ's voice-supple, expansive, and emotionally direct. His melodies carry a soft melancholy and faded familiarity that have only deepened with time, marking him as one of Tokyo's most nuanced and compelling voices in the independent scene.
