[Lagos - Tokyo Project] This is a project to turn a crisis into an opportunity for musicians who don't normally play together and join hands to create new music. The project started with two guys, Ade (Lagos, Nigeria), a saxophonist and band member of the legendary Afrobeat group SEUN KUTI & EGYPT 80, and Yuki (Tokyo,Japan), a drummer and music bar owner who loves Afrobeat. Their friendship and musical relationship began during the Covid-19 pandemic. It's been a crisis for everyone in the world and to get over it we believe in bringing our wisdom and knowledge together. Music venues, clubs, and bars all over the world have been forced to stop operating. It has been almost a year since musicians have not been able to perform freely. This is not only a problem limited to our region, it affects the whole world. We should care for each other and connect with each other's countries. Saxophone and Vo: Adebowale Osunnibu(Lagos) Gt: Tetsuta Otachi(Tokyo) Ba: Ichiro Horie(Tokyo) Dr: Yuki Ito(Tokyo) Recorded in Tokyo and Lagos perfectly remote. Edited & programmed at music island o, shimokitazawa, tokyo, japan.
