  • TOWA TEI

    In 1990, he made his U.S. debut as a member of DEEE-LITE with the album World Clique. He has since released 12 solo albums, 3 albums under the name SWEET ROBOTS AGAINST THE MACHINE, and albums with METAFIVE. Since September 2013, he has been overseeing the in-store music at INTERSECT BY LEXUS -TOKYO in Aoyama, Tokyo. He worked on the music for the NHK documentary program Kusama Yayoi My Eternal Soul. In 2018, he supervised and designed the 40th anniversary album of YMO, Neue Tanz. In 2019, he was involved in the key visuals for the 50th-anniversary documentary film of Haruomi Hosono, NO SMOKING, and in 2021, he worked with Tomoo Gokita on the art direction for the best album of Yukihiro Takahashi, GRAND ESPOIR. In 2021, he worked on the soundtrack for the Netflix animated series SUPER CROOKS, and the soundtrack album SUPER CROOKS (SOUNDTRACK FROM THE NETFLIX SERIES) was released. In 2021, following the international release of his 10th album LP, he also released an EP. In 2023, he simultaneously released his first full instrumental solo album ZOUNDTRACKS and the sequel to the previous album LP, TOUCH. In October 2024, he began overseeing the in-store music for MUJI. In November, he released the 12-inch vinyl version of ZOUNDTRACKS. On March 29, 2025, he will release his 13th album AH!! digitally, and the vinyl version will be released on June 6. From April 2025, he will be in charge of the theme music for Billboard Live.
