Artist Profile

  • MAS

The band unfolds a unique sound scape that combines intricately programmed electronics, instrument ensembles that prioritize complex yet catchy melodies and rhythms, and the intertwining of dub elements. They released two albums from the Flyrec label, which supported the dawn of Japanese electronica: the first album, "turn," featuring contributions from Noriko Tsujiko and miroque, and the second album, "steppers+," which includes several tracks featuring Kogami. These albums have been highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally, with Naoki Kikuchi describing them as "masterpieces that herald the true beginning of jazz electronica." They have actively engaged in collaborations, including remixes for BALLOONS, asana, and pasadena, as well as participating in installations and DVDs by contemporary artist Kenji Yanobe at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art and the Yokosuka Museum of Art. The group consists of five members, led by Tatsuya Yamada (Tyme.), who also produces for Noriko Tsujiko and Toto (Suika), with the addition of talented critic/musician Nao Ohtani and Mikiko Naruse, who has gained attention in the live scene as a member of sgt.
