Fukuoka-based three-piece unit YOHLU released their new song "landmark" on Wednesday, April 20.
YOHLU is a group of SSW, trackmakers, and photographers. Their music has a unique sound image that does not fit into the framework of chill-out or city pop. It is the uniqueness of the city of Fukuoka where they are based. The music, which was painstakingly woven over time in a private studio set up in the port district of Fukuoka City, is a gem of a song that is both high quality and rough.
The music video, created with Takaaki Fujise, who is well known for his music videos for the creative crew "BOAT," to which they belong, is also outstanding.
Formed in Fukuoka, Japan in 2018 by KENTO, ZMI, and BOKEH, the band has been performing live with support members since the summer of 2019, starting with their first performance in Korea. The band's unique sound has been widely acclaimed not only in Japan but also in Taiwan, Thailand, Korea, and Indonesia, mainly through subscriptions. As a member of the Fukuoka-based collective BOAT, he works independently with MADE IN HEPBURN, Osamu Fukuzawa, GOiTO, toddy(185), and others on everything from video production to design, music, and media development.
