THE HEAT's 40th anniversary new album "Way to London" has finally been completed. Reflecting on these 40 years, I prided myself on leading THE HEAT as its leader, but during the production of this album, I realized that this was a complete misconception. For about 7-8 years now, I've been proclaiming at lives and other events that "We're releasing a new album!" but I couldn't quite get into serious mode. It was the current members who kept pushing me forward. Former members also contributed songs for this album. Many people, including Eiji Ono, the owner of the live house who poured his passion into completing this album, and Kouzo Miyazato who helped every time we held an anniversary concert, supported and encouraged THE HEAT. I am filled with gratitude towards everyone and everything that allowed me to continue doing what I love for 40 years.

The world may feel like it's shrinking due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but I hope this album can be a vitamin for your hearts and was created with that hope in mind. I sincerely hope you will listen to it over and over again. THE HEAT will keep on running!

Artist Profile

  • THE HEAT

THE HEAT, formed in 1980 in Kikuchi City, Japan, has been inspired by Masamitsu Kikugawa's admiration for the Rolling Stones. Over the years, their dedication to emulating Mick Jagger's artistry led to numerous local contest victories. Despite facing tragedy with the loss of their bassist, the band focused on using music for healing, performing at various relief concerts. They've also made their mark internationally, recording at Toshiba EMI Studio in 2006 and performing in China and Korea. Celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2020 with a concert and an album titled "Way to London," they resumed touring post-pandemic and played at Japan's oldest live house, Jittoku, in 2023. In October 2024, THE HEAT is set to fulfill a longtime dream with a London tour, showcasing their performance on a global stage.
