Sticky&Tomaty Release New Song Dreamfade

Where does the heart go when the dream fades into the night?

The music unit Sticky&Tomaty, led by artist Sota Goto, has released a new song, Dreamfade. This track vividly captures the core theme of Goto's proposed art philosophy, Reverism, which is the intersection of dreams and reality.

From the quietly repeating prayer Just find the way to the refrain I want to fade, fade away that echoes in the chorus, this song does not escape the weight of reality but instead depicts the willful dissolution into dreams.

Goto's newly launched music genre, Escaperock, merges electronic and rock music to create a new form of escape. In this track, it is not the ecstatic rush of the club, but the quiet sense of release as if sinking alone in the dead of night that stands out.

The title Dreamfade may seem to suggest the fading of a dream, but in reality, it is the opposite. The work affirms the choice to fade into the dream.

Through this track, Sticky&Tomaty presents a new sensibility that fading is not a sign of weakness.

Dreamfade was born in a night when the boundary between dreams and reality became blurred.

It was a day when I wanted to believe that tomorrow would come, but it did not.
I wanted to escape, but not just run away; I wanted to fade into the dream.

This song is not an end but a quiet beginning.

Deep inside a heart that wishes to fade, there is still the true self that no one has seen, and to protect it, I dive into the dream. That is the essence of this song.

I would be happy if you listened to it in your room late at night, with feelings you can not tell anyone.

Artist Profile

  • Sticky&Tomaty

January 2025, Japan Sticky&Tomaty is a band that combines music and character animation. "If you doubt the rightness of society or other people's standards, flit off into a dream, verbalize your ideals and shout them out. When you return to reality, you can make society conform to your ideals." The music switches you from reality into a dream. The sound is alternative rock with influences from grunge, electronic, dreampop, ambient, etc., intersecting with a fantastic atmosphere and emotional impulses. On the visual side, the music videos and artwork feature the floating red tomato character "Tomaty" and green gooey character "Sticky", which are reminiscent of Reverism (his own art movement that blurs the boundaries between dream and reality). All lyrics, composition, singing, track-making, and artwork direction are done by organizer Sota Goto.
