Miyoko's original song Watashi Dake no Taiyo (My Only Sunshine) is an emotional rock number that portrays raw struggles of the heart alongside a sense of hope.
It expresses the weight of loneliness and suffocation built up in everyday life through vivid imagery, such as a faded band T-shirt or piles of laundry collapsing, while depicting the search for one's own meaning of existence.
The line "Even one life of my own does not go well" reflects the imperfection and fragility that everyone carries, resonating deeply with listeners. Yet the repeated words I'm My Sunshine embody a strong determination to find one's own light no matter the hardships.
The sound of rusty guitar strings strummed while raising a voice without giving up echoes like an anthem for those who continue to face forward despite setbacks and solitude.
As the title My Only Sunshine suggests, the song is a story about discovering a light that belongs to no one else but oneself. With sincerity in her voice, Miyoko delivers a message that gently reaches out to all who struggle, hesitate, and fight their way through life.
