Zehi ni Oyobazu - Beyond Question

Liminal Reverie

【PRE】

**Zehi ni Oyobazu - Beyond Question**

June 2, 1582. The tenth year of the Tenshō era.

On the verge of unifying Japan, Oda Nobunaga was betrayed by his retainer, Akechi Mitsuhide, at Honnō-ji Temple in Kyoto.

Betrayal by a man he had trusted.
Honnō-ji engulfed in flames.
A dream of ruling the land, just one step away.

At that moment, Nobunaga is said to have uttered the words:

**"Zehi ni Oyobazu."**

There was no longer any point in debating right or wrong.
Resentment and grief had lost their meaning.

Even if his dream of unifying Japan vanished into the flames, he would remain true to his own will until the very end.

Fifty years of human life.
All is but a fleeting dream.

Inspired by the final moments of Oda Nobunaga, this song portrays the regret and resolve of a man who stood on the brink of ruling Japan, and the fleeting nature of human existence.

Heavy Boom Bap beats meet a haunting Swing rhythm. Traditional shamisen and koto melodies intertwine with deep bass and expressive female vocals, bringing the burning halls of Honnō-ji to life through modern Japanese Hip-Hop.

**The rest of the dream lies within the flames.**
