The Needle Tree
It is a neo-acoustic duo consisting of vocalist Sugi-chan (Noboru Sugiyama: 63 years old) and guitarist Matsu-chan (Noriyasu Matsumaru: 49 years old), a former and active salaryman. In their "unadorned" style, they works energetically with original songs that transcend genres. The band name The Needle Tree is derived from the English name for the cedar and pine coniferous tree (Needle Leafed Tree). The band logo is based on cedar and pine motifs.

We are a neo-acoustic duo consisting of vocalist Sugi-chan (Noboru Sugiyama, 64 years old) and guitarist Matsu-chan (Matsumaru Noriyasu, 51 years old), both current office workers. He is active with original songs that transcend genres with a "no-frills" style. The band's name, The Needle Tree, is derived from the English name for the coniferous trees of cedar and pine (Needle Leafed Tree). The band logo uses cedar and pine as motifs. The self-produced first album "The Needle Tree - '1st'" released in December 2013 contains 13 original songs and covers a wide range of genres from bossa nova to rock. In March 2015, he released his second self-produced album ``After School Salaryman''. We will continue to expand the genre.
