This song was produced in 1996-1997 by a unit called "VOID OV VOID." The chorus of this song was created by sampling a song sung by local people at a sun ceremony held in Cusco during a visit to the Amazon region of Peru. Furthermore, by adding music recorded from around the world, such as songs sung by Maasai children in Africa, it was created with the intention of becoming music for the Earth. It was unveiled at the Rainbow Parade held in conjunction with the COP3 Kyoto Conference on Climate Change in 1997, and was later used as the theme song for UNICEF's water campaign.
