With You, Who Outgrow Me
yoasoP
Theme song for the picture book and short novel Hoshi wo Naraberu Sora ("Sora, Who Arranges the Stars").
In the story, Sora is the one whose task is to "arrange" the stars across the night sky. In time, Sora begins to make stars of their own - and is surpassed by what they create. When you are outgrown by the very thing you made, who can you still be? The story keeps asking its readers this question. The song offers no answer.
It sings only of a single movement of the heart: from "the me who protects you" to "the me who lives alongside you." It lets go of control. It lets go of being the one who protects. And "I" and "you" become "we."
In an age where AI is reshaping what it means to be human, this song doesn't deny the fear of being replaced, of being surpassed. And still - quietly - it chooses the path of living together. A song that stays close to the heart of Sora, Who Arranges the Stars.
