Miyuki Hatakeyama, a unique singer whose poignant, deep, and warm vocals have been loved by music fans and artists worldwide since her debut, and Ryuhei Koike, a guitarist who plays beautiful acoustic guitar rooted in bossa nova, folk music, and reggae, collaborate on this Ghibli song cover of Priscilla Ahn's "Fine On The Outside," the theme song from Hiromasa Yonebayashi's 2014 film "When Marnie Was There."

The jacket features original artwork by Shiho Sato, a painter who works on backgrounds for Studio Ghibli films, and Shinichiro Yamada, an animator who came from Ghibli.

  • Miyuki Hatakeyama

    After performing with Double Famous and Port of Notes, he made his major solo debut in 2001. His poignant and profound vocals are unique, earning him support from music fans and renowned artists across borders. He has collaborated and performed with numerous artists, including Yumi Matsutoya, Takashi Matsumoto, Tomita Lab, Kirinji, Taeko Onuki, Lily Franky, Aki Yashiro, Sergio Mendes, Grammy Award-winning producer Jesse Harris, and Yoko Ono. He loves, weaves, and sings music. His grand yet comforting world resonates beautifully in any setting, from small cafes to churches, Orchard Hall concerts, Budokan concerts, stadium performances singing the national anthem, and orchestral concerts and festivals. He is also a Minato Kesennuma Ambassador and a Miyagi Kizuna Ambassador. He is also active as a DJ for FM Yokohama's "Travelin' Light." On December 18, 2024, he released his new album "Travelin' Light". 2026 will mark his 25th anniversary as a solo artist.

  • Ryuhei Koike

    Acoustic rhythm guitarist and singer. He plays guitar for bonobos and LITTLE TEMPO. Born in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo, he spent his childhood in the United States. While pursuing a teaching career at Waseda University Graduate School of Education, he switched to guitar. His solid rhythm guitar playing, rooted in reggae, bossa nova, and folk music, and his silky vocals have earned him high praise in various scenes. In addition to his solo work, he has backed numerous vocalists.
