Edge of the Knife, the second album by Eighty's Mind Judgement, is built on a foundation of traditional heavy metal, featuring tracks that reflect elements of thrash metal and funk.
The contrast between intensity and restraint gives the album a sharp sense of dynamics and cohesion.
Eighty's Mind Judgement (EMJ) is a heavy metal project from Japan dedicated to energizing workers around the world through heavy metal. Launched in 2025, EMJ is a solo project created by a full-time corporate employee who writes and produces heavy metal inspired by everyday work life, society, and the inner struggles of modern people. Growing up listening to heavy metal and hard rock, the artist spent much of his youth immersed in the genre. He skipped school clubs and spent all of his part-time job earnings on heavy metal CDs, developing a deep connection with the music. Musically, EMJ draws strong influence from 1980s traditional heavy metal, emphasizing powerful riffs, melodic structures, and the classic spirit of the genre. The project places strong emphasis on album-oriented storytelling, designing each record as a cohesive conceptual work rather than a simple collection of songs. So far, seven albums have been completed, with three officially released. One of the central themes of EMJ's music is the life of working people. The Corporate Warrior series portrays office workers as modern-day warriors and captures their struggles, determination, and resilience through heavy metal. The project also creates visual artwork that reflects the thematic world of each release, combining music and imagery to build a distinctive artistic identity. EMJ's music is available on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and iTunes.
