The Third album by trial-and-error composer Schumpete Nakabou.
A work brimming with the spirit of "Bring it on, any genre, from anywhere!" A toy box filled with jazz, rock, and everything in between.
A Tiger Jeet Singh of the music world...crossing genres while blowing logic to bits. I compose across heavy metal, rock, surf sound, jazz, and cinematic styles, all based on whims. Everything is programmed, everything is experimental. Structures and aesthetics erupt on the spot like sonic detonations. As a student of Buddhism, I listen closely to impermanence. As a Lacanian, I twist the structures of desire. With a splash of sociology, I peer behind the curtain of meaning. What I mix into sound is not just fragments of thought...but things less than emotions, wordless flows of the mind that pulse beneath the surface. I score soundtracks for films that do not exist, and weave fragments of imaginary stories through sound. Repeating the same harmony? Breaking the rules of voice leading? If it rings with the beauty of dissonance, I say blow it up. My hobby is to remain unclassifiable. I go by the name Schumpete Nakabou. Founder of the music unit VISIONS. And I also write. I explore the thoughts behind music, and the strange distance between sound and language, through essays and reflections. Writing is an extension of composing and sometimes, a form of resistance. I am not here to become famous. I aim to become someone I myself recognize. Through music and words alike, I continue to dislocate meaning...day by day.
