The Inohana Tunnel train shooting incident occurred on August 5, 1945, when a train traveling on the Chuo Main Line was fired upon by fighter planes at the entrance to the Inohana Tunnel in Hachioji City, resulting in numerous casualties.
This incident has been buried amid the enormous damage of the Pacific War and is in danger of being forgotten.
There are still people among the victims whose names and identities remain unknown.
There are also fewer people left to share their experiences and memories of that time.
I wrote this song inspired by the book "Chuo Main Line Train 419" by Tsutomu Saito of Tokyo Metropolitan Higashiyamato Minami High School, in the hope of passing on at least some of this tragedy to the next generation.
