A small boat floats on the moonlit sea.
No one is there.

Only a biwa remains.

"Tsuki no Funauta (Moon Boat Song)" is inspired by the atmosphere of the ukiyo-e work depicting Akiko by Yoshitoshi Tsukioka.

The voice that may once have been sung upon that boat has dissolved into the waves and the night.

Yet the sound remains.

Blending the resonance of the biwa with a quiet boom-bap rhythm, the music drifts like a distant tale beneath the moon.

A story not of the singer,
but of the echo that remains after the voice is gone.

Artist Profile

  • Liminal Reverie

Liminal Reverie is an instrumental music project centered on the theme between reality and dreams. Between day and night. After the crowds fade away. Moments where reality and dreams have not yet fully separated. Liminal Reverie turns the lingering presence, afterglow, and quiet atmosphere of those moments into sound. The project is built on two complementary musical axes: Japanese side: Edo Lofi Western side: Liminal Reverie Each explores a different world, while sharing the same sense of liminality.
