"Losing You" is a rock song about facing the pain of heartbreak. It captures the struggle between moving forward and holding on to the past.
The melody was originally written when I was in my twenties, but I completed the song 40 years later by adding a new bridge section for this recording. It feels like a collaboration between my younger self and who I am today.
I'm a Japanese singer-songwriter making melodic pop deeply influenced by the Beatles and the roots music of their era. In 1987, I released a solo album on King Records, one of Japan's major labels, and for about twenty years after that I worked as a composer and arranger, arranging more than 300 songs released on CD. After more than fifteen years away from music, I released the album "Restart" in 2024, at 64. What matters most to me is Human-Led Music. I sometimes use AI as a tool for parts of the process, such as polishing the English in my lyrics, some backing vocals, and parts of the mixing, but I write, compose, arrange, sing, play guitar, bass, and other instruments, and record my music myself (a few songs have lyrics by friends). At a time when it's getting harder to see who is behind the music, I want to make songs where you can tell who made them, and why.
