Artist Profile

  • OOSEDOCHISHIMA

In 2006, saxophonist Takashi Oosedo and electone player Satoshi Chishima formed the band in their hometown of Hiroshima. The OOSEDOCHISHIMA sound, which combines Chishima's worldview on the electone and Oosedo's expressive saxophone, started as a small group and spread by word of mouth, spreading not only in Japan but also to the world, crossing the language barrier. The diverse music of the two, which has no lyrics, stays in your mind like a story, and many of their songs have been used on TV, radio, and commercials. At live performances, they freely change their style to suit the stage, from a two-person performance style to a band arrangement. In addition, one of the attractions unique to live performances is the talk that highlights the two characters, and they also work as radio personalities. With the concept of "easy to listen to, familiar, and enjoyable stage," their new style of saxophone and electone sound is attracting attention nationwide. In 2010, their first album "DreamStage" ranked first on the Oricon Indies Chakuuta Full chart. Their subsequent releases "Future" and "GLORIOUS" were the top-selling instrumental albums in Shinseido's nationwide storefront sales charts, an unprecedented feat for instrumental music. They were also selected as a featured artist by the Kyoto Prefecture Record Dealers Association. "Clover" and "Future" were released nationwide as sheet music for the electric organ by Yamaha Music Media Co., Ltd. In 2016, they held an event to celebrate their 10th anniversary. They attracted attention with their unprecedented live performance in a 2,000-seat hall in their hometown, and were selected as the main guest at Hiroshima's largest event, the Hiroshima Flower Festival 2017, where they performed "Hanaguruma," the first instrumental artist to do so. Their overseas activities began in 2012 and 2015 with performances in Germany, and in 2015 they began to make inroads in Asia in earnest, partnering with "SiamMusicYamaha" in Thailand to hold concerts at universities and at the Yamaha Hall in Bangkok. They also participated in EDF activities to support underserved junior high school students, and performed at the Sriracha Japan Festival and other tours to bring music to Thai children. In 2018 they partnered with "YamahaMusicChine" and performed as guests at the Yamaha booth at the global musical instrument exhibition "MUSIC CHINA 2018", and from there toured more than 30 venues across China by 2020. After the COVID-19 pandemic, they will be the first Japanese instrumental artist to appear at the "BIG MOUNTAIN MUSIC FESTIVAL 13", the largest outdoor music festival in Southeast Asia, held in Thailand in 2023, and will appear again in 2024.
