Kazue Galantique: a sultry Showa song-flower blooming in the Heisei night.
While the recent "Wa-Mono/Showa-kayō" boom flickers in the corner of her half-lidded eyes, she keeps a cool distance, stubbornly clinging to the title "kayō singer." Her voice-steeped in the raw karma of human desire-wraps itself around every listener and onlooker, leaving them spellbound.Eight years of live stages behind her, she finally steps into the spotlight with a debut album of Showa-kayō covers, produced by Satoshi Sumida (THE THRILL / WaSaBi!) and backed by a full, breathing band.
Galantique Kazue :
From adolescence she was bewitched by Showa kayō, slipping deeper into its velvet darkness. While still at art college she gathered twenty midnight revelers into the song troupe "Mayonaka no Gallant to Hello-Romantica" and took the stage. In 2002 she went solo at Shibuya's "Blue Room," trading verses with kayō diva Yoko Nagisa and chanson siren Soirée. Since then she has sung her heart out everywhere-Tokyo clubs, provincial halls, even the song platforms of keirin velodromes-never once straying from the kayō path.
Satoshi Sumida :
Keyboard wizard of the fourteen-piece rock'n'roll juggernaut THE THRILL and the hyper-mod-jazz trio WaSaBi!. Beyond his fingers, his gift for melody and arrangement has graced TOKIO, Izumi Tachibana, Takayuki Jinnai, Aiko Okumura, the 2005 NHK "Tensai Terebi-kun" theme "Mirai wa Jōkigen," the anime soundtrack Blue Submarine No. 6, and the LOVELESS vocal album. Here he produces, arranges, and tickles the ivories.

The record is out now-pure Showa perfume, bottled in the twenty-first century.
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Expelled from the Visual Communication Design Department at Musashino Art University. In 2002, she passed an audition at "Aoi Heya" in Shibuya and began her career. Since then, she has consistently sung kayōkyoku (Japanese popular songs from the Showa era). Her performances are grounded in deep respect and affection for that era, while her song selections highlight the sophisticated musicality of kayōkyoku that resonates with today's music scene. In this way, she creates fresh, non-nostalgic value for kayōkyoku and passes it on.Since 2005, she has also been active as a member of the trio Hoshikuzu Scat alongside Mitz Mangrove and Meily Mu.
