Way Too Far

Momo

A friend of mine

The very caring one

I can’t even remember your face

And the face I showed you

Just a few minutes ago

Once the door’s been left close

I’m alone again

Those whom I had to hurt

Staring at my back

From the picture on the wall

I was right there like none, like none

Way too far next to you

She was weeping when you were broken down

He was raging when it was torn apart

I was there to hear you though

What did I say with the speechless mouth

I was right there like none, like none

Way too far next to you

A friend of mine

Two lone souls

I hear you crying in the shadow of me

How can I mean something to you

In your whitest sigh?

I was right there like none, like none

Way too far next to you

Artist Profile

  • Momo

Momo (Momoko Kawabata) is a singer songwriter known for her passionate piano style, occasionally accompanied by the support of violins and a band. She was born and raised in Chiba, the neighbourly prefecture of Tokyo without much influence from any friends, family or the music industry over there. She self-taught herself how to write songs, how to sing and how to play the piano, mostly relying on her ears and so Momo's unique playing style is highly influenced by this. Although she is often described as the Japanese Kate Bush or Ben Folds, she is into guitar music and live bands such as Elliott Smith, Deerhunter, Modest Mouse and so on rather than shiny piano pop music.
