  Yoshiki Tagashira was born and raised in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, Tagashira currently resides in Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture. While farming rice in the countryside, he spends much of his time listening to the sounds of nature, not just the sounds of birds, wind, and distant insects, but also the space between sounds. The silence of nature and the slow flow of time shape his music. His works are simple, yet evoke the passage of time and its melancholy, as well as a variety of light and its subtle colors. They feel like a song of life welling up from the depths of nature. Tagashira has walked the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route countless times, capturing the prayers of people throughout the ages and the nature that has been shaped over time, and has compiled these insights into numerous works. One such example is the album "Trail," released in 2020. Since then, he has released numerous works themed around the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route. In addition to his solo work, he has also provided music for video works, including the soundtrack for several animated picture books and the music for the introduction animation for the biological exhibits at the GEO NOUS Museum on Izu Oshima. Through his life of rice farming, daily life, and listening deeply to the sounds of nature, his music seems to quietly reflect the silence that gently envelops the passing of time and sound.
