Lyric

Concrete shadows overhead

Blue light falling on the dash

Every column comes and goes

Like a picture moving past

Traffic thins with every turn

City noise is somewhere far

Bass is rolling through the speakers

Soft beneath the sound of cars

Keep the windows halfway down

Let the cooler air come through

Nothing waiting up ahead

Just another shade of blue

Underpass blue

Running through the night

Underpass blue

Fading out of sight

Let the echo follow slow

Everywhere the highway goes

Nothing that I need to do

Underpass blue

Exit signs above the roadway

Green against the midnight gray

I could take the shortest route home

But I let it slip away

There's a rhythm in the concrete

Every tunnel has a tone

For a while the empty highway

Feels like somewhere of my own

Keep the windows halfway down

Let the cooler air come through

Nothing waiting up ahead

Just another shade of blue

Underpass blue

Running through the night

Underpass blue

Fading out of sight

Let the echo follow slow

Everywhere the highway goes

Nothing that I need to do

Underpass blue

Low beams

Blue walls

Distant headlights rise and fall

Slow turns

Deep sound

Let another mile come around

Underpass blue

Running through the night

Underpass blue

Fading out of sight

Let the echo follow slow

Everywhere the highway goes

Nothing that I need to do

Underpass blue

Underpass blue

Fading into view
