Uranawanaii, a pastoral and alternative ukulele trio, will release "Don't Laugh at Other People's Ukuleles" with Osaka-based ukulele unit M.M. Cafe on November 30th as a digital single at the same time as "UKE ME BABY".
The new song "Don't Laugh at Other People's Ukuleles" features simple ukulele playing by each member, with punk rock-style drums and bass by Abareuma Norio,
but the voices and sounds of Naniwa by Ino-Max and Shirahama Asuka of M.M. Cafe add a pop and catchy breeze to the song.
The lyrics contain a message that celebrates diversity, providing listeners with a new ukulele music experience.
The song was recorded at two locations, Tokyo and Osaka, using smartphone recording apps, and the mix and mastering were done by Ishikura Natsuki of Koenji OTOlab.
The cover is a photo taken by Ino-Max at Words Cafe in Osaka, paying homage to the movie flyer that inspired the song's title.
A live concert to commemorate the release will be held at Loft Heaven in Shibuya, Tokyo on November 30th, and at the same time, a circuit-style live event called "Ukulele Hustle" is planned, which will visit four locations in Tokyo over two days until December 1st.
We are an idyllic Japanese trio playing and singing the ukulele. However, not a Hawaiian band, but probably we are an alternative rock band. Our songs resonate outside the earth and fly to another dimension. Uranawanaii is a name that means not fortune-telling. The past and the future are also Uranawanaii.
