RUNG HYANG, a Fukuoka-born third-generation Zainichi Korean singer-songwriter, is known for her emotionally resonant music that blends R&B, soul, and pop with genre-defying creativity. She is set to release her latest single, "Skyfy," on Tuesday, October 8 via digital platforms.
For this ambitious new work, RUNG HYANG collaborates with Jairo, a world champion beatboxer, to craft a fresh sonic experience. Merging the warmth of country music with the energetic pulse of EDM, they've created a new hybrid genre they call YEEDM-a sound that captures both freedom and hope.
The title "Skyfy" is a coined word combining "Sky" and "Amplify," symbolizing the act of unleashing imagination and soaring beyond limits. Through Jairo's powerful beatboxing and RUNG HYANG's soulful vocals, the track evokes the feeling of flying-free and unbound.
Inspired by the spirit of former Red Bull Air Race World Champion Yoshihide Muroya, the song reflects on the transformation of the sky.
