Ballad

Soko Morikawa

I lay sad melodies

No choice not to

To expel cloudy sighs prevailing

Recalls too much

One love I gave up fully

And when it ended

Decided no to be in love again

I needed to save me

Why are us people longing for someone to be in love?

Despite the pain we surely know that comes within

I don’t want those feelings anymore

Maybe just right for me to love in the distance

Not too close to it

There’s me feel uneasy in the little things

Like the things I said bring me down

May this sad ballad end

Why are us people longing for someone to be in love?

Despite the pain we surely know that comes within

I don’t want those feelings anymore

Maybe just right for me to love in the distance

Not too close to it

One day my heartache be free

Might take a while

Till I get to release all my tears

May this sad ballad end

    Ballad

    Soko Morikawa

This is a long awaited acoustic EP from a singer-songwriter, composer, arranger, and producer Soko Morikawa. As following the atmosphere of her previous acoustic EP with pianist and film music composer Kavin Hoo, this is also a collection of soothing, jazz-influenced medium ballad and pop songs. Stays on retaining the beautiful melody lines from previous one, but moreover, this EP has more relaxing sounds feature as adding a small combo arrangement which are done by her own Piano/Rhodes piano, Acoustic bass and Percussion programmings. These gentle songs are expressing a detailed her past romantic experiences that "How I really feel and think , and what I am looking for" as of today, and she positioned this as a building a bridge to her future thoughts coming in a while.
