NY-based rapper Ludio.
Following the viral success of his hit "Totteoki," he continues to amass a dedicated fanbase across borders. Now, riding this wave of momentum, he drops his 8-track mixtape, "JAPANESE EXCELLENCE."
As international attention mounts, Ludio curated this ambitious project to showcase his roots-"Japanese Excellence"-to the world. While absorbing the atmosphere of NY, his gaze remains fixed on the forefront of the Japanese scene.
Featured artists include Elle from Inage, Chiba, and Kianna, the fellow rapper and ally who co-created "Totteoki" with Ludio. The lineup also features PAX0, an icon of the Japanese Rage sound known for his explosive energy and cult popularity. These talents, defined by Ludio as true "Excellence," sparked a new chemical reaction in the NY studio.
The production team is a chaotic mix of the next generation from both the US and Japan. It features nascar and sid, who garner enthusiastic support in the US Hyperpop/Rage scene, alongside up-and-coming Japanese beatmakers 808 Edi$on, rxl, and warm. Ludio himself also contributes to the production.
With a growing fanbase and increasing international eyes, "JAPANESE EXCELLENCE" is a sharp collection of 8 tracks that proves the potential of Ludio and his Japanese peers.
Born in Japan in 2005, Ludio spends his childhood in Tokyo and moves to New York when he turns seven years old. He started his musical career in 2019 after he moved to Osaka, Japan. He makes all his songs in freestyle and handles everything from recording to mixing himself. After releasing music on soundcloud, he gradually attracted attention due to its high quality, and from 2021 he will expand the range of activities by expanding to Tokyo. He made a guest appearance on Tim Pepperoni's song "Chrome Hearts" released on January 23, 2022, and is one of the most promising artists in the Japanese scene this year.
