our 20s are just a chapter

Kumika Hashimoto

This is the reminder

"Our 20s are just a chapter"

We rush to bloom as if we expire

We rush to, ‘cause they say it’s golden show

We rush to, pressured to be in 20s

We rush to, believing "now or never"

Is that so?

We keep turning pages

Is that so?

We’re still becoming who we are

Is that so?

Oh our 20s are

Is that so?

Just another chapter

We rush to bloom as if we don’t change

We rush to, ‘cause they say it’s golden show

We rush to, you say "no hope for future"

We rush to, believing "now or never"

Is that so?

We keep turning pages

Is that so?

We’re still becoming who we are

Is that so?

Oh our 20s are

Is that so?

Just another chapter

Is that so?

We’re keep turning pages

Is that so?

We’re still growing with time

Is that so?

Oh our 20s are

Is that so?

Just another chapter

our 20s are just a chapter

    Kumika Hashimoto

As a 20s studying at an art university while continuing her music after graduating from Waseda University and moving to New York to pursue a new path, she carried a long-held question that inspired this new single, which also serves as a pre-release from her 1st album.
The phrase 'Is that so?' reflects her questions such as: 'Many people feel pressured to become something by their 20s, which is influenced by placing excessive value on youth, and in a world where people with different perspectives live, they often measure themselves and others by a quite limited set of standards. But is that really how it should be?'
The track is a synth-pop piece that conveys the idea that our twenties are not the age to use up all our shine, but rather a chapter to truly begin to bloom. This message is carried by a hopeful synthesizer refrain that forms the core of the sound.
The lyrics express her belief that life deepens and grows richer as we age and with experience, making the song resonate not only with people in their 20s but with listeners of all generations.

After her viral hit of 'hot chocolate in new york', she has garnered over 1 million views across social media and continues to gain international attention.
