Artist Profile

  • SUGEE

    Singer and djembe player. He has traveled the world, including Okinawa, Taiwan, Cuba, the Middle East, and West Africa, and has collaborated with local shamans and other ritual musicians. In particular, in Kela, a sacred site for griots (traditional music inheritors) in Mali, he was given the griot name Mamadi Diabate. After returning to Japan, he has performed at music festivals in Japan and around the world, including the Fuji Rock Festival. In 2016, he released his new EP "UMI NO RINGO". In April 2019, he released his 1st solo album "Back to Goddess," and on December 9, 2020, he released "Kashin" on 12-inch vinyl and digitally, ranking 4th in the iTunes World Music category. His 2nd full album "Kashin" was released in July 2022. In July 2025, he will perform at the Fuji Rock Festival for the 4th time. In November 2025, he will release his third album "DRACONIC".
