Yeah
Tell me, who is flying? it's me!
It's me!
Swinging strong with his two things, crossing in his small back
The scent of red touching him in warm sea breeze
Oh, can anybody tell me?
Tell me, who is flying? it's me!
It's me!
He's here to reborn with all his might, for the sake of his life
Wildly the blue crushes him in cold sea breeze
Oh, can anybody tell me?
Tell me, who is crying, it's me!
It's me!
The arms are taking away, the arms are fading away
The legs are taking away, the legs are fading away
The back is taking away, the back is fading away
The body's taking away, the body's fading away
The head is taking away, the head is fading away
The mind is taking away, the mind is fading away
The spirit is taking away, the spirit is fading away
The life is taking away, the life is fading away
Who is crying?, its' me!
Its' me!
Oh, can anybody tell me?
Tell me, who is crying?
It's me! it's me!

the SUGARSTAR is CRYING
the SUGARSTAR is CRYING will release their debut digital single, "ageha", in August 2025.
Balancing stillness and motion, "ageha" explores the end and rebirth of life through a band sound that ebbs and surges, and vocals that cry in quiet mourning - gently wrapping the scene in a haze of sound. Written and composed by vocalist and guitarist Meg Arai - whose childhood in Japan, Ghana, and the United States shaped her distinct perspective on life - the song was born shortly after the band's formation and has since undergone numerous rewrites and recordings. A promotional-only sample disc was once produced, but due to wildly divided listener reactions, the track remained unreleased.
In 2025, the song was given new life, reconstructed with a fresh interpretation under the engineering of Shinjirō Okada, guitarist of the rock band Pirokarpin, known for the song "Kyoto." With its raw yet crystalline sound, "ageha" has finally emerged as what the band calls their "oldest and newest" song.
Artist Profile
the SUGARSTAR is CRYING
An alternative rock band consisting of Meg Arai (vocals/guitar), Yusuke Tsuruta (bass/vocals), and Masahiro Ibuki (guitar). Meg, a medical doctor who spent her childhood in Japan, Ghana, and the United States, writes the lyrics and composes the music. Rooted in Japanese sensibilities, their songs capture the fleeting beauty of the seasons and quietly carried generational memories - erupting in raw emotional vocals and intense guitar rock. Meg and Yusuke met in 2000 in a music club at a university in Nagoya. Masahiro later joined the band, and the band took its current form. The band's name comes from an episode in which John Lennon sprinkled sugar on straightforward songs to make them easier to listen to.
