about EP [New Day]

This EP , which is the first sound source after resuming activit ies in eight years, is a masterpiece that they challenged to create their new sounds and styles without attaching to the past. The two guitars developed a synth-like and effective sound, over turning the guitar theory. The ensemble accelerated further after 10 years. The rhythm section has acquired the unwavering groove that can be confirmed only after 10 years have passed.

The first song is the title song "New Day" a symbol that is a re-departure fanfare of them who sprinted as a group of 4, and set off for momentum, euphoria and dynamism. An atmospheric synth guitar that wraps up the whole and a guitar phrase that enriches the spread are added to the dynamic rhythm section, boosting ecstasy powerfully.

2nd song "Bloom" Tricky and rolling beat. Groovy bass is reminiscent of Motown. The contrasting ensemble of a gorgeous and minimalistic guitar and the bleeding watercolor guitar. It is PHEWWHOO's magic to combine these in an exquisite balance.

3rd song "Meisou" Supple and dynamic sound based on house music. Sticky four-stroke, cool chord progression and dignified melody create a domestic band sound that is a bit different from foreign club music.

4th song "Sign" A simple composition that is different from the complexity of modern instrumental bands, a nice breakbeat, two guitars and a bass that connect the song like 3MC. The song full of their popularity and playfulness.

For this recording, Taichi (recordi n m g engineer Andy's studio) and Keiichi Kobayashi (mix engineer Strawberry House), who have always been close friends and trust, have been in charge. Mastering is done by conor dalton (calyx mastering), who worked on works by Jeff Mills and Daft Punk from Berlin. The hard, grainy sound of Berlin is also attractive to thiswork.
