BURN (feat. FKD)

Fukuoka-born, Tokyo-based rapper/poet maco marets has released "BURN", the second single to be distributed in advance from his new album, which is scheduled for release this winter.

The track production for this album was handled by DJ/beatmaker FKD, the leader of the creative collective "VIBEPAK", who in addition to providing music and sound design for domestic and international artists, has also worked with Dry Echoes (Hikaru Tanaka x FKD), FIC (FKD, Shun Ishiwaka, Aaron Choulai), Dewy (erie &FKD).

He and maco marets have collaborated on a single "In my eyes", which was released in March this year as stage music for DYM MESSENGERS, a team in the professional dance league D.LEAGUE, and won the league's "MUSIC OF THE YEAR" award, as well as other projects. The two have collaborated on several songs together.

"BURN" combines FKD's bluesy beats with the raw rap of maco marets, who says he was conscious of his "more blunt style than usual". The lyrics, which question one's own way of life, "In the face of violence / I can only shut up", are not only "cozy" but also powerful enough to renew the artist image of the past.
