• YU TAKAHASHI a.k.a GABBY

  I encountered music in Kushiro in my hometown of Hokkaido and started writing poetry and composing songs while playing acoustic guitar in junior high school. At the young age of 16 in 2008, I began my career as a Deejay mainly in eastern Hokkaido, and in December 2013, I released my first street album "PYRAMID," which made a name for myself nationwide. The content of the album fully captures the essence of my style, which is "REBEL." In 2013 and 2014, I participated in the Road to Yokohama Reggae Festival for two consecutive years. In 2015, I released a digital-only mini album called "Othello." In April 2017, I released a mini album called "Shiamego" from ORNIS MUSIC WORKS. In March 2020, I established my independent label "ILLKiLLi Production" and simultaneously released my first single "Heiwatte." In September, I released a combo EP called "Goraku" with my ally from Hokkaido, SPYCE. Although I suffered a serious injury in November 2020 and miraculously returned, I was forced to suspend my live performances for a while. Nevertheless, I launched an original brand "MateyMerry" and produced music videos during that time. In the end of July 2022, I released my new album "REBELART!!!" and returned to live performance from August 31 of the same year. From 2023, I will pursue my favorite things and continue to evolve as a solitary singer from the north under the name "Yu Takahashi a.k.a GABBY."
