The definitive Shonan City Pop of the 2020s
Citta Yuuki Akimoto has become the successor to Shonan City Pop through his work with Bread & Butter's Iwasawa Fuyumi in Surf City Playerz.
As the name suggests, Summer Story is a mini-album of summer songs.
The refreshing "Afterimage" (Kamakura FM LIFE BEAT LAB theme song) and "Midsummer Rays" have a funk and disco feel to them, as do the "Woman Living in the Night" and "Summer Story."
Sax player Nakazono Ami, who has been extremely active in recent years, also participates, giving it a Japanese fusion feel, making this a worthwhile album to get into in the summer.

Citta
He began performing live in 2006, primarily in the local Shonan area. "citta a Sanskrit word meaning "heart" or "spirit" was originally intended as the name for Yuki Akimoto's solo project, but it eventually became established as his artist name. He is also active as a composer and arranger, providing songs and producing music notably, he contributed a track to the 2009 surf film *VELVET* (released via Columbia Music Entertainment). In 2014, he released the album *LIFE BY THE BEACH* nationwide; it was featured as a recommended title at the Tower Records Fujisawa store for over six months. He was profiled in an interview for *Shonan Style* magazine in 2016. In 2020, he formed the group SURF CITY PLAYEZ with Fuyumi Iwasawa of Bread & Butter, releasing the album *Summer Story* in 2021. His June 2023 single "Atarashii Hibi" (feat. Yusuke Hirado) was selected for the "JAZZ Scene Japan" playlist on Apple Music. He also serves as a personality for the music program *LIFE BEAT LAB* on Kamakura FM, continuing to express his love for his hometown of Kamakura and the ocean through his music.
