The grand cinematic opening to the album Resilience. Caracole (meaning 'spiral' or 'half-turn') immediately establishes a vast, atmospheric soundscape. Built on a slow, deliberate beat, the track weaves multiple vocal textures (all in English) with rich, evolving synth pads and swelling orchestral strings. The rhythm is slow, but the momentum builds through the layered complexity.
The occasional raw, industrial noise effects act as percussive accents, adding a palpable sense of tension and thickness, mirroring the concept of a turning point or a moment of powerful, inevitable change. It is a mesmerizing, beautiful prelude that sets the stage for the entire sonic journey.
Nuearz is a solo project by Japanese artist Kazuhiro Okuda. He has released two albums, "Saturation Point" and "Face Lift," from the UK label Skam Records. Additionally, he has released two albums, "Last Straw" and "Funny Bone," from his own label Logica et Natura. He also participated in the compilation album "A Sign 2" by the new Osaka label Remodel. The CDs released by Skam Records are notable not only for their original music but also for the designs by two renowned artists, Chantal Michel and Fernando F. Fonseca. Nuearz's composition style involves reinterpreting synthesizer preset sounds and music samples as pure sound movements, liberated from their historical and contextual backgrounds. By combining sounds that have never been heard before, he awakens hidden contexts and fragments of history within the music, leading to the creation of new contexts.
