大阪発のインディーアーティストMANPAが、2026年10月14日にEP『万葉集 vol.2』をリリース。

Lo-Fi HIPHOP、Neo Soul、R&B、そしてTrap。本作に収められた5曲は、それぞれ異なるジャンルの顔を持つ。だがそのすべてに共通しているのは、現代への風刺と、生活の手触りだ。

流行を追ううちに誰もが同じ姿になっていく光景。噂話が自分のことなのか確信できないまま揺れる自意識。誰かとの近すぎる距離に怯える夜。報われなさを抱えたまま、それでも明日を求める時代感覚。

どれも特別な物語ではない。日々の中で誰もが通り過ぎている感情を、MANPAは自身の解釈で言葉に変えていく。「シワがなくなると／老いて枯れるだけ」——顔のシワと、考えることをやめた人間の脳のシワ。「渋滞中の洗面所で語ろう」——狭い場所でぶつかり合う二人の朝。多層的な言葉遊びは、聴き返すほどに別の意味を立ち上げる。

ジャンルが揃っていないことは、本作にとって欠点ではない。外に怒る自分、誰かに甘える自分、噂に怯える自分。そのどれもが同じ一人の中にある。

「ずっと同じ平凡はない」——収録曲「2025」の一節が、そのまま本作の姿勢を言い当てている。

天皇から名もなき民衆まで、あらゆる立場の歌を集めた古の歌集。その名を借りて、MANPAは自分の中にある複数の声を一枚に集めた。

作詞・作曲・トラックメイクからMV企画まで、全てセルフプロデュース。全5曲。「Sick八苦Remix」にはUlswapが客演参加。

    MANPA is a self-produced independent artist based in Osaka, Japan. Built on lo-fi hip-hop and running through neo soul, R&B and trap, his music turns the texture of ordinary life into something closer to poetry than reportage. He has worked alone since 2023, writing, composing, building every beat and directing his own videos. Everything is made on a single MPC ONE, without music theory, assembled by feel. His lyrics are built to double back on themselves. "When the wrinkles go, all that's left is withering" reads as a line about a face smoothed by filters, and about a brain gone smooth from disuse. MANPA performed at MINAMI WHEEL 2025, Kansai's largest circuit festival, and won the Taiyo to Tora Prize at the Coming Kobe audition in 2026. He has been featured in DIGLE MAGAZINE, selected for official Spotify playlists including Monday Spin, named one of six finalists from over 160 entries at JFCA 2026 for Japan Festival CANADA, and placed in the top 46 of 293 artists in TuneCore Japan's NEXT R&B. His EP Manyoshu vol.2 arrives in October 2026.
