    The Return

    Tayama Shogo

Shogo Tayama, a singer-songwriter in Japan, born in 2002, unveils his highly anticipated debut album, Uchu Ryokou(Space Travel).
Despite being a debut work, this album achieves a remarkable level of artistry as a concept album, intertwining diverse genres such as Shibuya-kei, ambient, and shoegaze to create a one-of-a-kind sonic landscape- a pinnacle of "Immersive Pop."
The album captures the exhilaration, solitude, struggles, and despair Tayama experienced after moving to Tokyo, weaving them into the metaphorical framework of a space odyssey. The result is a dreamy and intimate piece of bedroom music.
The second track, 'Shall we escape from the Earth?,' serves as an homage to Flipper's Guitar, portraying the buoyant excitement of his early days in Tokyo and heralding the beginning of his journey. A spaceship takes off into the sky -what lies at the end of the world it encounters?
After moving to Tokyo upon graduating high school, Tayama devoted all his time to completing this work. Using self-recording and home studio techniques, he vividly portrays a 'microcosm' as seen from within the confined space of his bedroom.
