Koubou / A place where art is born

"TOKYO COLLAGE 2025" is the fourth installment of the project led by &mkz, which incorporates field recording techniques to elevate the atmosphere of Tokyo in 2025 into musical compositions.

For this piece, the project collected sounds generated by canvases and art materials during the creative process at the atelier of artist "k:soul:y a.k.a YAN." These sounds were then processed into rhythm tracks and ambient tones, which were collaged with the sounds of synthesizers and rhythm machines. The exhilaration of the moment a new work is born is thus expressed as a rhythmic musical piece.

Furthermore, the artwork that expands the world of this work is his painting, created as an answer to the music.
