Born blind, I've lived this long thanks to the help of many people and my warm family in my daily life.
Because I lack sight, I've relied heavily on my hearing throughout my life,
so I believe my attachment to and obsession with sound are stronger than most people's.
True to the title Blinding Darkness,
I poured my feelings into this song and its lyrics about the preciousness of human love and encounters-things that feel all the more dazzling precisely because I cannot see them.
I hope many others who share my visual impairment will listen to it too.
Despite being blind, she began piano at age five and possesses perfect pitch. In her second year of junior high school, she won the national championship at the Columbia Poetry Recitation Contest. At age 20, she won the national championship at a folk song contest. She is currently active performing on street pianos in Aichi Prefecture.
