Smooth Listening in Seven Days is originally designed to help Japanese learners listen to casual English phrases, but it is also possible for English speakers who are learning Japanese to repeat the Japanese phrases. The conversations range from Hip-Hop style phrases to stories set against background music which can be enjoyed while relaxing, exercising, eating, commuting, or in any other situation. The first half of the album is the vocal without the background music. The second half of the album features phrases and stories set against background music. Listeners who are not interested in either the English or Japanese can listen to the conversations against the background music, which might sound like the conversations that take place with music flowing in a relaxing cafe. The final cafe music is a recording by Yumiko that can be enjoyed while drinking or eating a favorite beverage or dish!
