Yoshiwara Gion Taiko Sessions
Music by young people who grew up in Gion, the best place in the Tokai region.

Held in June every year, the Yoshiwara Gion Festival attracts 200,000 people over two days and is called the best Gion in the Tokai region.
A festival that has been held since the Edo period in Yoshiwara, Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, which was a post town on the 53 stations of the Tokaido. Every year in May, music practice is held in each town for a month before the festival. Young people in the town teach the children how to play the taiko drums, and from an early age they grow up immersed in the musical accompaniment.
Formed in 2015, mainly by members who grew up in Yoshiwara and participated in the Yoshiwara Gion Festival as young men. He creates music at his own pace by mixing traditional Yoshiwara music with contemporary music such as rock, funk, and jazz.
In addition to the 6 basic members, a band of 500 to 1000 Yoshiwara natives who can play taiko drums in all 21 towns participating in the Yoshiwara Gion Festival.
In May 2021, Hayato Kimura (taiko), Kotetsu (percussion), and yas (taiko) joined as new members.
