Lueur

SATOSHI

Low

My soul waits

In dry dust

Under no stars

Hush

Night won't end

Every breath

Falls to the deep

Still

Small

I keep watch

For dawn

Cold rain

Almost sings

Somewhere past the night

Long

For light

Through this dust

Through this grief

Now

Light

Stay near

As we break

Patient as the dawn

Ash

My heart bends

Beneath fear

Under sealed skies

Yet

Hands still rise

Without words

Toward the far light

Long

Dark

We keep watch

For dawn

Thin hope

Almost burns

Somewhere past the night

Long

For light

Through this dust

Through this grief

Still

Dawn

Draw near

As we break

Patient as the day

    Lueur

    SATOSHI

"Lueur" means "a faint light" in French.

A psalm-like dark downtempo piece about longing for light beneath a starless sky.
Fragile vocals, restrained breakbeat rhythms, deep reverb, and a cinematic atmosphere drift between quiet despair and a distant sense of hope.

This piece reflects SATOSHI | ECLESIAH's spiritual post-rock sensibility through a more minimal and subdued form of dark beat music.

Artist Profile

  • SATOSHI

SATOSHI is a Japanese composer and producer whose music draws on classical harmony, sacred and liturgical traditions, folk music from around the world, and Japanese melodic sensibilities. Moving across post-rock, blackgaze, dark ambient, trip-hop, and abstract hip-hop, he combines layered vocals, massive drones, tremolo-driven guitars, breakbeats, and profound silence to explore prayer, loss, hope, and the boundary between civilization and nature. The contemporary reimagining of traditional hymns and folk melodies is central to his work, transforming them through his own artistic vision while bringing the beauty of the originals to new audiences. His YouTube channel has surpassed 88,000 subscribers, and he collaborates with vocalists and artists from around the world. His music has also been featured at an official football event held at a national stadium outside Japan. ECLESIAH is the project through which SATOSHI embodies "Sacredgaze," a musical world of his own conception where prayer, silence, darkness, and overwhelming sound converge, reconnecting the sacred with contemporary musical expression.
