Michiru Hoshino 20 Colors: The Best of Michiru Hoshino 2005 - 2025
Celebrating 20 years since her debut with AKB48, Michiru Hoshino has carved a singular path as a solo artist - bridging idol pop and city pop with elegance and emotional depth.
Her music, often described as "the intersection of idol pop and sophisticated city sounds," has long been cherished by fans and critics alike.
Now, this definitive 2-disc anthology captures the brilliance of her two-decade journey - a collection of beloved classics and new songs that illuminate the next chapter of her artistry.
After joining AKB48 as a founding member in 2005, Hoshino soon embarked on a solo career, releasing a wide range of works - from sparkling pop tunes to smooth urban grooves and delicate ballads. Her refined sound, blending nostalgic warmth with modern sensitivity, has earned acclaim across Japan's pop and city music scenes.
This first comprehensive best-of album distills those twenty years into a vibrant portrait of her evolution.
It includes signature tracks such as "Natsu Nanda Shi" (produced by Yasuharu Konishi), the long-sought-after fan favorite "Tokyo Disco Night", and "Ganbare!" - written during her AKB48 days with lyrics by Yasushi Akimoto and music by Hoshino herself. Two brand-new self-produced songs further highlight her current creative vitality.
The urban groove of "No music, Yes music" and the crystalline beauty of "Hoshi no Namae" mark new milestones in her 20-year journey - songs that connect her musical past to a shining future.
A fitting celebration of her 20th anniversary - "20 Colors" - gathers timeless favorites and vibrant new beginnings into one definitive collection.
